The library collections include 200,000 volumes of books, subscriptions of over 600 journals, 11,000 electrons journals, 10,000 electronic books, and 7,000 multi-media items. And there collections continue to increase steadily and rapidly. The main library holds over 230,000 items.
The library-staff work in the following units: Reader’s services, Technical Services, System Information, Audio/Video Services and School Archives. For all library users, there are the multi-media services are, the internet searching area, the reading rooms, the periodicals room, the references room, the discussion rooms, the research rooms, and the stacks rooms.
To improve services to staff and students, the library added in leisure reading area and an internet services area on the university’s 30th anniversary which falls on November 30(2002). The library’s membership of the Taiwan EBooks Net (TEBNET) took effect in January 2003 and this has resulted in over 10,000 volumes of electronic books available to our user. Plans are underway for an English Corner and to improve the multi-media services area to benefit the university’s English and information education environment.
Currently the library is marching unto a new era of multi-dimensional digital services. In the future, the library will link up with the computer center and continue to increase its holdings of electronic databases, e-journals, and multi-media resource, all of which will provide a diverse and digital, high-quality learning and research environment
