The Department was founded in 1988. Faculty members include four professors, nine associate professors and two lecturers, 11 of them owned Ph.D degree. The main objective of the program is to investigate and provide solutions to environmental engineering, industrial safety and industrial health problems from both the science and the engineering point of view. |

There are eight laboratories in this department for students study, including 1)Environmental Chemistry Res. Lab., 2)Water and Wastewater Analysis Lab., 3)Unit Operation Lab., 4)Solid Waste Res. Lab., 5)Environmental Microbiology Res. Lab., 6)Air Pollution Res. Lab., 7)Instrumental Analysis Lab., and 8)Work Environment Monitoring Lab. Also we have three united research laboratories, including Advance Physical and Chemical Treatment Lab, Biological Treatment Research Lab. and Wastewater Treatment Lab. These laboratories provide the faculty members and students with a creative, comfortable and knowledge-based environment for teaching, learning and performing research. The laboratories are equipped with AA、UV/VIS、TOC、GC、GC/MASS、LC/MASS、IC、HPLC and SO2、O3 analyzers, etc. |

Four-year completion program courses include Engineering Mathematics (I),Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Analysis Experiments (I) and (II), Wastewater Treatment, Introduction to Industrial Safety, Introduction to Industrial Safety ,Introduction to Industrial Hygiene, Environmental planning and management, Air Pollution Control, Solid Waste Treatment and Resources, Regulation for Industrial Safety and Health, Practical Project (I), and Work Environment Monitoring. The elective courses include Water Treatment and Supply, Environmental Microbiology, Biological Treatment, Radiation Safety, Noise Control, Physic-Chemical Treatment, Fire and Explosion Protection, Industrial Ventilation and Industrial Pollution Control. |
