Teaching and Learning Effectiveness

  To develop diverse teaching strategies and encourage teachers to promote innovative teaching methods, we have established the "Teacher Innovation Teaching Plan." This plan encourages teachers to use innovative and engaging teaching approaches to ignite students’ interest and improve their learning outcomes. We also integrate the MOE “Teaching Practice Research” Subsidies Program initiated by the Ministry of ducation in 2017, which aims to enhance the quality of teaching and improve students learning effectiveness across different disciplines. Teachers investigate issues through classroom observations, literature reviews, and apply appropriate research methods such as curriculum design, teaching materials and methods, instructional tools, and technology integration. This process concludes with the use of assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching approach. Additionally,  A Teaching and Larning Effectivenesswe promote industry-academic collaboration through coteaching with professionals, offering courses for professional certifications, conducting short-term practical training programs, and organizing visits to industrial institutions to enhance students' practical application skills. To integrate teaching and learning, our university, based on its development philosophy and operational nature, divides the functions into three areas: instructional support, instructional quality assurance, and instructional enhancement. These areas are aimed at improving the learning outcomes of students, continuing improvements in teaching methods and enhancing teachers' competences. In terms of digitalization and diversified learning, we encourage digital teaching and interactive learning through various approaches, including synchronous, asynchronous, and blended learning. We also expand the scope of distance learning by providing an interactive distance learning environment that is user-friendly for other institutions. This facilitates the sharing of teaching resources and creates a seamless learning environment.

  To ensure the quality of education, we have implemented a comprehensive teacher evaluation system since 2007. This system includes a mechanism for teacher elimination and is linked to teacher promotion and evaluation. The evaluation covers teaching, research, guidance, and service aspects, aiming to promote teaching innovation and professional development for teachers. Since the 2006, we have also implemented an online teacher evaluation system to assist teachers in quickly obtaining student feedback. This feedback helps teachers make adjustments and improvements to their teaching methods. Through this clear assessment mechanism, we ensure teaching quality and enhance student learning outcomes. Student learning outcomes are essential indicators reflecting the quality of university education. We offer remedial teaching courses to bridge learning gaps and ensure student success. To ensure student safety and well-being, we provide preventive and counseling services, emphasizing mental health awareness. We also offer diverse sports facilities and programs to promote students' physical health. Additionally, we organize campus recruitment events annually to facilitate exchanges between the business community and students. These activities deepen students' understanding of the corporate workplace, enhance their motivation for achievement, and assist students from all grades in career exploration, consulting, planning, and learning blueprint development.

Learning Resources

  To enhance the quality of teaching and learning, our university actively updates teaching facilities and software and hardware equipment. This includes improving the functionality of digital learning platforms, developing mobile learning, and enriching learning resources. We have also signed agreements for interlibrary cooperation and resource sharing to effectively activate book resources and create excellent learning environments. In addition, we have joined the Nationwide Document Delivery Service (NDDS) and the Central Taiwan University Library Alliance to provide interlibrary borrowing cards for cross-campus applications.To provide the best resources for teaching and research for our faculty and students, our university enhances the basic core collection and expands audiovisual multimedia and electronic resources based on the existing library holdings, in response to the teaching and research needs of various departments. This aims to improve the quality and quantity of the library collection, thus enhancing the competitiveness of higher education at our university. Additionally, to enrich students' diverse learning resources beyond the classroom, we create a learning environment that allows learning anywhere and anytime. We also enrich the digital library collection resources, making it a cloud library for student learning. Our university, in collaboration with the Digital Learning Consortium, allows all faculty and students to upload teaching videos online, helping teachers build teaching and research resources, promote asynchronous online courses, and achieve the goal of asynchronous distance education.
